Folks, is the Peak Tram still closed for renovation?

The Peak Tram hasn't been closed for renovation. It is the Peak Tower (one of the buildings at "The Peak") which is still closed for renovation. But you can still get the tram up there and take in the view from other points around the station. And all the other buildings there are still open (so plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants, etc.) http://www.thepeak.com.hk/

Thanks, Christep for the clarification.

When I was up there in Jan, I thought the view was seriously impeded by the construction work vs what I had seen previously.

Any pointers for good new vantage points up there while the construction continues?

Once the construction is done, it will be quite nice I think.

I don't think the view was that much different before the construction started. That bowl shaped thing has been an eyesore from day 1. The best views have never been from that specific point. The nearest good view is at the Lions Club pavillion, a 2 minute walk. Better views are up Mt. Austin Road, at the top of the hill, or down Lugard Rd., especially at the point where the road is nothing but a bridge on the edge of the cliff. But for that you have to get off your lazy arse and walk for a while. The very best view, however, is from the top of Mt. High West. You'd better be in good shape for that, there are 365 steps to climb.
