For the View/Observation.
Hi.
I've tried searching. But view is just too common.
I know of the Bank of China building and the monetary museum in the IFC.
Where else would I go for the view? Bar/lounge/restaurant.
I dont want to drop a lot of money on views but some I am sure are worth it.
There for 4 full days and the leading night next weekend.

If you're looking for a restaurant, the view is much better/more dramatic (esp at night) from the Kowloon side than from the HK side. Decent places include Yu (excellent fish/seafood, on the 2nd floor of the IC), and Felix (in the tower of the Peninsula, maybe better known for the view than the cuisine).
Napa used to be a great choice on the top floor of the Kowloon Shangri-La, but it apparently disappeared during the latter's refurbishment two years ago.
On the HK side, Petrus in the Island Shang is excellent, and Top of the Town (TOTTs) in Causeway Bay is also very good. Both have fine views from the HK side.

Yu is great for the view (despite not being up high!) and almost all of the tables are positioned so that there is a good view ... so you don't have to be right by a window.
Felix has a great bar and superb bar food, but the restaurant food is not as good. I think drinks+snacks at Felix for the view is well worth doing, but not dining there.

Felix, however, has the downside that there are very few seats in the bar area and thus you're left to stand most of the time. For a much more comfortable drink, albeit in less rarefied atmosphere, you can try the lounge on top of the Sheraton, across the street from the Pen. The view isn't as good as Felix, granted, but there you can actually get a seat

You'll surely be disappointed, from the Hopewell revolving restaurant I saw virtually nothing but a blurred view of what was supposed to be the harbor... please refer to my related posting. There are still numerous great restaurants serving great food, but don't expect to get any views!
