Five Hour Layover

I've a five hour dinnertime layover in HKG during a Fall trip to SE Asia (Arrive 510P - leave 950P). After doing a search, I couldn't find any information on HKG's proximity to the city center.

Do you think it's possible to zoom to the city, grab some dim sum and make my flight 5 hours later?

Yes, it is perfectly doable. You must have not searched very hard. But you'll have trouble finding somewhere to serve you dimsum for dinner. "Dim Sum" in Happy Valley is the only one I can think of.

There's also dim sum in the airport (Maxim's). But that'd be kind of boring.

If I were you I'd take airport express to Kowloon and then a cab to Mody Road and get some Chinese food (maybe Spring Deer) then walk along the promenade, take the star ferry to Central and then airport express back to airport.
