I'd be interested to know this, too. Have an 18-hour transit in early January on CX. Think the only option might be the relaxation area in the CX lounge?

The more sane option would be to find a more comfortable place outside of the airport.

I just don't fancy the risk of the PCR after waiting so long to make this trip. Would normally have booked the airport hotel.

This is written for the numerous questions about transit access to Wing Flounge but points (2), (3) and (5) ((5) in particular) needs to be taken into note when entering HK to check in on separate tix/stay in airport hotel:

Still no access to Wing Flounge for transit:
1. Backflow barrier between gates 20 and 21 not removed. Non-China transit pax use transit points >21 and board their planes in rest of world area gates >21 If you’re contemplating entering HK, declaring a 2. HK is still continuing testing regimen as mentioned by maalloc upthread, so a Medical Surveillance order will still be issued against you. 3. Only in the medical surveillance order will you find your visitor vaccine pass. This took me 19:41 to access when I landed 18:24 on 29 Nov 4. Wing needs vaccine pass to access, just like any other HK dining establishment. Foreign certificates and credentials cannot be accepted directly (if visitor, you need to upload your credential in the pre-arrival Health Declaration Form ). 4.a. Today’s changes simply mean you do not have to install Leavehomesafe app to scan restaurant’s code, not have a two day ban on visiting restaurants and bars - you are blue code on day 0. 5. Not to mention you will be subject to Hong Kong law incl Cap 599 until doors close, so if you’re found to be positive, you’re obliged to notify crew, walk off the plane and proceed to your declared place of residence to quarantine. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...5fae90668e.png |

Thanks. |
Testing is the first thing right after you get off the plane. (Transits are sorted out.)

Are the shops open in the transit area in HKG?
Thinking of doing a transit at HKG to SIN Thanks! |

What would be the current state of affairs, if I am transiting only; mask, apps, swabs, tests, anything?
|
You need to wear a mask. If passing immigration control take a self-administered RAT 24 hours or less before your flight to HK departs.

With the new PCR test requirements for entry to countries from Hong Kong, does this include transit passengers? So if I'm flying back from BKK to YVR via HKG, I need to get a negative PCR test to fly?

ETA: Here's a link to the official press release. I'm not going to quote it because it's a bit wordy, but the policies appear to apply to actual flights upon arrival. https://www.canada.ca/en/public-heal...macao-air.html |
If Canada is trying to mirror what the US policy is, the US policy clearly states that transit passengers (< 24hrs) passing through HKG would not require a covid test:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...travelers.html But you are right, the Canada Immigration page does not clearly distinguish this. I can only presume that they will likely clarify this to mirror the US in the coming days (hopefully). We are in the same boat for a BKK-YVR (connecting via HKG) trip in April and trying to decide if we should change our flights now. |
