Which casinos in Macau dont require proof of expenditure to ride their shuttles?

Hi all,

I shall be going to Macau for a day trip from Hong Kong soon and may or may not also go to Zhuhai.

My ferry is coming into the Macau outer Harbour and I would like to go into Macau and look at the old Portuguese architecture, have some Portuguese food hopefully and maybe hop over to the Gongbei border if I decide I want to to go to Zhuhai as well.

I had banked on using free casino shuttles to get around but found a recent news article saying that the Wynn, MGM Grand and Grand Lisboa will now be requiring proof that you have spent money at their casinos to get the free shuttles FROM their casinos (still free to the casino).

However I see the Venetian and Sands Macau offer free shuttles, are these still free no questions asked?

Anyone had any recent experience of the free shuttles in Macau?

Thanls

OP - I visited Macau this past November as part of a 3-day visit to Hong Kong. I used the Paris casino and Wynn casino shuttle buses with no one asking me for any proof of expenditure.

Both Wynn and Grand Lisboa websites mention nothing about spending for shuttle.

No information is available at MGM's website.

One year ago, I just got on the first shuttle that was ready to leave, coming and going, no questions asked.

Can you point us to the news article? My understanding was only Grand Lisboa requires this. My latest news is as of November.

I was there in August and wasn't asked for proof. They all wanted you to jump on so you would spend money at their casino.

From the grapevine:

The pier to casino shuttles are still "free" without any spending proof.

From casino to pier, there are incidences of spending proof, the target is HongKonger who are used to "gaming" the system to get freebie. Grand Lisbon and others in that vicinity are being taken advantage of by the Hong Kong day tourist and they are right to enforce this. I saw people very upset at Grand Lisbon when they were denied boarding in the evening yelling that they were going to miss their ferry.

Not required from Sofitel to Pier either, but with the amount of people trying to ride the shuttle and its moderate frequency of once every 15 minutes, we ended up taking taxis both ways last week, as to ride it means waiting in line for 10 minutes or more.
