Going to Shenzhen for a few hours from HKG with US Passport
Hi all,
I hope this is the right place to ask this question.
I will be in HK next week and would like to go to Shenzhen for a few hours to meet some contacts for coffee and catching up. I have a US passport
Is it possible for me to get the required visa for this at the border when going to Shenzhen? I'll be in Shenzhen for less than 6 hours.
Also, how much transit time should I plan for from Kowloon to Central Shenzhen?

Americans still can not get the five-day Shenzhen-only visa on arrival.
Don't know how long you'll be in HK, but you can probably get the 10-year multiple-entry visa for Americans at the Visa Office in Wanchai.
As to time, I generally allow 90 minutes from entering the MTR station in HK to exiting the customs building at Luohu in Shenzhen. More if you hit lines at immigration.
