I haven't played with it to see if you can LOG IN ONLY ONE TIME and it can actually KEEP YOU LOGGED IN for more than 30 seconds though.

Greetings from Ex Lounge Hilton Berlin.

Have tried at 7.00 pm local time to book a room for Hilton Dresden for tomorrow night via the German BETA site. Got twice a "SERVER ERROR, YOUR REQUEST CANNOT BE HANDLED". A technical problem obviously.

Now at 10.50 pm local time I logged into my account via the UK site, booking the room succesfully w/o problems. I remained for 8 minutes logged in, shortly after I was logged out. No problem to log in a second time.

UK and Germany seem to be the ownly countries yet to have access to the new websites. The .com is still the old one. Have not checked other countries´ websites.

I have to say the site needs more work for mobile devices. I hate date fields where you have type the date. Yes, the little calendar pops up when using a pc/laptop, but when using a mobile device I now have to key in the dates

It also didnt load the banner logo either. Although, not loading bandwidth sucking jpg's is probably a good thing.

The old site works great with my phone and PDA.

Now, 07:50 am Berlin time, the redirection from www.hilton.de to the beta.hilton.de has been deactivated.

The uk link still works.

www.hilton.de again old version, http://beta.hilton.de still working, but no redirection from hilton.de to beta. Remains a dream?

www.hilton.co.uk/HiWayWeb working as new web page version. Lucky British

situation as follows:

US
old: http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/index.do

GERMANY
old: http://www.hilton.de/SiteHomePage

GERMANY "beta"
new:http://beta.hilton.de/HiWayWeb/appma..._page_homepage

UK
new:http://www.hilton.co.uk/HiWayWeb/app..._page_homepage

The new UK web page is already the official one, the new German has remained a "beta", the redirection from the old one, which is again the present one, has remained disabled.

Anyone knows what is going on and when the US website will be switched to the new style?

The new website is worse than last year's.

I presume it's not just me for whom the website says you have "x base points", where "x" is actually the total number of points you have?

If only they'd stick to it, but for the moment I have no way of knowing how many base points I have.

They keep trying to fix the layout of the website. Not sure why, I agree that it needs to just work and not kick me out or ask me to login every five minutes after I do something.

That exactly is what the global website (which I have preferred to work with so far instead of my old local one which is even worse) does:

- Kicks me out every few minutes, I just turn around, get a cup of coffee, come back, and the webpage has already forgotten who I am
- Have to login twice for what reason ever, I could not find any logic behind this
- Booking two rooms in one go at the same property means two reservation entries appear with same res. no., but none of them can be edited or cancelled anymore, "call reservation office"

I agree the website must run properly. So isn`t that a chance to try out the new UK website (your language) and see what is better or not compared to the current global one, which is really no fun to work with, also from ergonomical aspects, compared to others such as SPG? I will try both beta German and official UK from now on and see which features have become better and which not.
