Two places at once!?!?

A couple of weeks ago my wife and daughter were in Chicago at a Doubletree and posted the stay to my HHonors card. Meanwhile my son and I were in NYC at the Millenium Hilton. Our stay has not yet posted. Is it possible to have two simultaneous stays on the same HHonors number? (Thought I would check this forum before emailing HH about crediting. Thanks!)

With the Mutual Fund account it only seems reasonable that you would get credit, but I don't have any personal experience.

You can get credit for 2 rooms on the same day in fact my wife and I have done it in same hotel.
Before HHonors allowed you to put 2 rooms on one folio if we needed more than one room for family etc, we would make reservations in the different names( as listed in our Mutual fund)and got credit for two stays, .

do 2 rooms on same night count as 2 stays ?

Am planning on taking inlaws away with Mrs. Anvil & me in a couple of weeks.

I want to look after their room, so will it count as a stay in addition to the "stay" i get with my room?

Also, because I'm Hhonors gold, will both rooms be upgraded?

thanks gang,
The Anvil.

Hi celticanvil,

The second room will not count as a stay.

It will however get you points if you put both rooms onto your folio .

No. For more information see HHonors Terms and Conditions.

Hotel will be under no obligation to do so, but being nice at check-in often does wonders... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

multiple rooms / same night how many stays

I know I've seen this but I couldn't find it in my search. The HGI near me has rooms on a Saturday night for $45. Can I book 10 rooms on that night. Check in to all of them and get 10 stays or will it be one stay for $450?

Thanks for the help
Tom from Portland, Oregon

That would be credited as one stay and only the points for the first two rooms would be credited to your account.

Thanks, where did you find that info? I looked all over for it last night.

Thanks again,
Tom

Stays Vs Points, I have done that a lot, while traveling with others on trips.

You can only get credit for one stay, and accumulate points for a maximum of 2 rooms per stay, as long as both rooms are in your name, and you pay for them with either cash or a credit card with your name. Again, make sure that your name is on both room reservations when you check in.

Therefore, to specifically answer your original question, you will get credit for only one stay and 900 points ($45 x 2).

I have received points for 3 rooms before. So I guess the rule is not always enforced.

The language of the rule states that both rooms must be charged to the same folio. The other night I stayed at the Windsor Hilton and had a second room for my mother. Both were booked on the same reservation file on the website, and were in my name with my HH and FF numbers. However, at check out, two separate folios were issued, albeit both still had my name and HH and FF program details on them. Thus far, only one has posted. Is this common from the experience of others who have multiple rooms posting for HH points? Did you also get multiple posting of FF miles too?

Xyzzy Aug 27, 2003 10:33 pm

I've never had multiple rooms appear on the same folio. I suppose you might be able to do that when you check in but I'm not sure. When reserving with the hilton.com web site multiple-room reservations aren't even handled correctly, such that any viewing/changes can only be done by calling.

After checkout I always have to call/write and ask for credit. You are supposed to only get credit for one stay, get one airline bonus and credot for each night in time. The only thing extra you get with multiple rooms is points.

Thanks, xyzzy, I'll call the service centre later this moring and get the changes to the second room added. Didn't really expect second set of FF miles, nor the stay credit.
