"Evolution Room" ??

Was looking at booking an HHonors hotel in DSM, and at one of the HGIs this is one of the room descriptions:

"1 KING EVOLUTION ROOM
ADJUST SLEEP SYSTEM BED-HI DEFINITION TV
MP3 CLOCK-COMP HI SPEED NET-MICROWV-REFRIG"

A search didn't reveal much in the way of information about what an "Evolution Room" is. Any further wisdom?

I stayed in of the "Evolution Rooms" in the HGI Greebelt, The bed has an adjustable dial on each side of the front of the bed--with setting of 1-10 4 was their suggested setting-=It was an ok comfortable bed--nothing to write home about. The room is nice sized with free internet either through wired or wireless. The clock is the same you see in Doubletrees and teh high def TV was good. All in all a decent room.

I beleive one of the original concepts of this was the "Technology Room" at the HGI at LAX. Try searching for that and you should come up with a few hits.

Now that surprises me. I have stayed in many, many HGI's. I am always impressed with the design: the position of the desk, the easy reach of the Internet access; the fact that the TV is visible from any corner; the proximity of the light switch and phone to the bed; the ease of use of the radio and HVAC systems: I naturally assumed intelligent design. Looks like I'm wrong again.

I have only stayed at one HGI (Bloomington, IN) with the Evolution room. As far as I can tell, it refers to the adjustable bed (because all the other amenities - flat screen TV, fridge, microwave -- were in the other rooms. At that property, the adjustment was 1-6. the adjustment was in an awkward place -- under the matress pad, inside a velcroed pocket). In two nights, I could not really get comfortable at any setting.

Note, at this property, regular and Evolution rooms were priced the same.

This sounds like one of those air beds that the Bionic Woman (Jaime..?) is pitching on TV.

Is it an Air Bed? What happens when u adjust the dial...?

The HGI North Seattle/Everett offers Evolution rooms with "HDTV," but that's nothing more than a 32-inch widescreen set capable of receiving high-definition programming. Since the HGI's incoming signal isn't high-def, all you're getting is the same crappy standard-def available at every other motel ... it's just stretched to HDTV width.
