Thanks doc. Actually itsa not based on double occupancy but it is per room. I could not get a $55/room rate but did get a nice $79/room rate just as listed on the chart. I forgot to ask about HH points. Anyone know if they still give them? BTW I stayed there on a cold day last year for $39/room. I did get HH points then, they did not understand upgrade as I was a Gold HH, and no comp breakfast.

Why shold they not? They are still a Hilton, and the last I looked, Hiltons, even casinos, do participate. However, I think that the Flamingos, Ballys, etc., are another question, and a good one at that?
Does anyone know definitively??
BTW, if the AC Hilton qualifies, I assume the LAS Hilton and the Paris -LAS Hilton do, as well?

Hilton Atlantic City - Claims Only Hilton "In-Name" - No HHonors Bene
I am getting so ticked at these Hilton scam properties - from coast to freaking coast. First the Hawaiian Village debacle in February and now Atlantic City (AC) this week!
Let's start with the bad omen first:
I made the reservation at a very good rate - $110/night for 3 nights (Tues-Fri). I called the property directly a few days later to inquire about adding 4 more rooms. During the conversation I was told that my rate of $110 does not qualify for HHonors points, the minimum rate is $125 for points. So reluctantly I had her raise my rate $15/night so that I would earn my points.
CHECK-IN:
I handed the clerk my AMEX & Diamond Card, she said that I would earn "500 HHonors Points for my stay". Huh? I told that first of all the room & tax is about $425 (+/-4000 points) and that I planned to buy a lot of food since I have 6 sales reps with me. She said that they give a flat 500 points - not miles - HHonors points. Oh yeah, speaking of miles - they don't do the "Double Dip Thing". Well she said that they were low on capacity and would give me an upgraded room - great right? Well the "Upgraded Room" had a big bathtub and two phones - very small room.
UPGRADE REQUEST:
I noticed that there seemed to be a parlor room attached to my room, I phoned the front desk and asked if it was in use and if not could I have it to hold a reception for my staff. After 2 managers, they said O.K. but only until Noon the next day (today). So I ordered a ton of food, had them all up for a morning pep rally, when I'm told it's time to go. In other words get out your time is up. The wanted to have it in "reserve" in case they need to give it away to someone. What a few hundred dollars in food is not enough?
I have a few more stays already booked at Hilton properties and then after I unload the balance of about 250,000 points - I'm through. I'm a platinum at Starwood and although there are fewer properties and they are a little more costly, at least I don't have to deal with this crap! I guess the saying "You Get What You Pay For" is true after all.

Hilton Help in Atlantic City!!
Hilton Atlantic City Blues
I stayed recently at the Hilton in Atlantic City. I was rudely told that they do not honor the Hilton honors program and that they do not need to. I was also informed that the “Hilton Corporation” would not count this stay towards my Honors account. Very disturbing.
When I entered the room the soap, shampoo; shoehorn etc. all said Hilton. Maybe different corporations, (and unknown to me) but I still was loyal to the Hilton name (Is this what the marketing department strives to do?). I have a stay in Reno at a Hilton coming up should I expect the same type of treatment?
I need some guidance.

I think you should call HHonors customer service, or email Adam Burke, the Hilton Rep that posts to this newgroup, because they advertise it as an HHonors hotel.
If you look up the AC Hilton on Hilton's website, and click HHonors Members, it says:
"This hotel participates as a Select HHonors hotel reward category. For more information on HHonors hotel rewards, click here."
If they participate as an HHonors select hotel for rewards, then they should also grant points and upgrades associated with the card. If the hotel does not participate, that's fine, but then Hilton should not advertise that they do.

I could tell you about the hilton my self. The should honor your card as the honor my card with no probolom. you should talk to some one or call the hotel directly and ask for the manger. The have comment cards to you should tell them the poor service you are geting and on the card put down that you would like some one to call you.

The below is from the Atlantic City Press, 4/14/01:
Hotel points programs lack appeal in A.C.
In Las Vegas, Caesars Palace chose to affiliate with former owner Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. over insider Hilton Hotels Corp. for its frequent-guest points program, The Wall Street Journal reported. Hilton is closely tied to Caesars’ current owner, Park Place Entertainment Corp. Park Place’s other Las Vegas casinos are affiliated with the Hilton Honors program.
In Atlantic City, however, Park Place could not care less about hotel-points programs.
“We don’t do it because we don’t have to,” said Wallace Barr, Park Place’s Eastern Casino Group president.
Such points programs make little sense in Atlantic City, he said, because Park Place gives away or discounts two-thirds of its hotel rooms and has no problem filling up the rest.
The Atlantic City Hilton belongs to the Hilton Honors program, but uses it on only a limited basis, Barr said. Bally’s Park Place and Caesars are not affiliated with any points program.

I agree that the Casino Hotels operate a little differently, but still, if you complain, you'll usually get some service. There is a whole slew of hotels for me to stay at in Atlantic City, on the only reason to choose Hilton is to get points, stays, and my Gold Upgrade. I will call them up and find out what their take is on the whole thing, but I think that any hotel that thinks they do not need to participate in their brand's loyalty program has no idea how many good customers they are missing. If Hitlon will not give me points, stay credit, or a free upgrade in Atlantic City, then I might as well just make Donald Trump richer, and stay at the Taj
