Brussels Grand Place: Hilton or Marriott?

Which one is your recommendation?
Brussels Grand Place: Hilton or Marriott?
I am Gold (both chains).
How is the breakfast in these hotels?
Is the Hilton hotel upgrading Gold members to Club Lebel? How is the Club?
Thanks!

Not familiar with the Marriott, but the Hilton Grand Place has nothing going for it, except the location. As a Diamond member, I went into the Exec Lounge the first day and promptly left. I never went back again. Dismal food and drinks. No service.

The lobby bar was quite nice, but not cheap.

I personally prefer the Hilton’s location(steps
from central station and a block from grand place) and think the rooms are nicer. Breakfast is good, but the lounge post-Covid is terrible. The Marriott breakfast was also good, but when I stayed there the room was tiny and dark. The immediate area around the hotel also can get loud at night.

I’ve not been to the Marriott but the Hilton is mediocre, bed comfy and upgraded to a suite but breakfast ok , lounge terrible ( soup and sandwiches in the evening) .
I would stay again but only for the location.

TYSM for your experiences!
In case you recommend another better hotel closeby (maybe with sauna) in the same price range, please share.

The old Hilton Brussels City left the group for IHG and is now Hotel Indigo Brussels City.

The DoubleTree, on the other hand, was previously a Crowne Plaza.

I too miss the Conrad.

I had a good stay at the Courtyard EU, not a full service property of course but quite nice, well located, and reasonably priced.

I stayed at both - the Marriott is newly renovated - would generally consider it the better property.
