Gift From Hilton/AMEX -Powerstick Spot Pro

I did a search but didn't see anyone had started one, but I just received a gift from Hilton/AMEX that is a keychain with like an AirTag but made by Spot for putting on (insert whatever item you wish to track here). Nice gesture, will wait to activate based on other member's feedback. I'm sure someone a few pay scales up from me will get into the fine print!

What Amex do you have?
I'm a Diamond (usually through number of stays, been Diamond for maybe for 12-14 years) with an Aspire card that I've had maybe... four or five years?)... haven't seen anything come my way, so curious how this was targeted.

I wouldn't place much value on this "gift". It's similar to a million other marketing ploys by brands that are trying to build a user base. If this was an actual AirTag or Tile that had some value, then I'd have some interest. This is just a sales gimmick by Spot.

Earned diamond with an Aspire and have had the card since it came out and had the Citi Hilton card the entire time that was available prior and prior to that had the American express Surpass card since it came out until the Citi card was available and had a Hilton Amex before that and had the no fee Hilton amex while I had the citi Hilton card and received Nada. Also have a personal and business Delta AmEx that I put over $250K a year in spend in on the Platinum AmEx and received NADA.

Based on the facebook Hilton group it sounds like they were sending those out to people with a lot of spend on their Hilton AmEx cards. Another example of Hilton not valuing the people that stay in their hotels. Only thing I've received from Hilton was the playing card like eight or nine years ago.

Not a big deal since I have airtages on anything I'd use them on anyway

Got mine today. Head-in-Bed Diamond for 9 years. Aspire cardholder as well.

The envelope mine came in was numbered, and my number was above 40,000. Nice little gadget.

Was away for the weekend and returned to this little surprise. I have the ~$75 AF Amex and used it quite a bit historically (although that is tailing off with the new AA LP scheme.) Nights nothing to write home about since covid.

Was thinking about this a bit…

If you search “Spot Pro Bluetooth Finder”, the link first link is to the company who sells it. But they’re a promotional firm that sells branded trinkets and gadgets for mass marketing. These tracking tags devices sell on the retail market for $15-$20 each. We can assume Hilton/AMEX bought at least 50,000 of them (rough guess since my envelope was numbered in the 40,000s).

The iOS app has a 2.1 out of 5 star rating and is 4+ years old. Outside of two recent reviews, the next most recent review is 6 months old. This system is orders of magnitude smaller than AirTags or Tile.

I’m about as far from a marketing specialist as you can get; but it seems like an odd way of bolstering support for your brand.

See my post #4 in this thread. This is really nothing of value, IMO.

I had missed the announcement of digital key sharing, so at least by getting one, I now know about that (my number is > 80,000, received today).
