Hilton Honors Score More on Dining

Aspire has $20 credit per month, Surpass has $10 credit per month, and no-fee card has $5 credit per month.

Details and Offer Terms are copied from the American Express web site.

Details
Enroll in this offer to earn a $20 statement credit each month you spend $20 or more on eligible U.S. restaurant purchases with your Card. Whether it's dine-in, takeout or delivery, you can redeem this offer each month through December 2021. This is in addition to the Points you already earn with your Card. Terms Apply.

Offer Terms
You must first enroll in the offer by adding the offer to your Card. Only purchases made with your enrolled Card are eligible. Offer to enroll is available to existing Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card Members who are Basic Card Members prior to January 1, 2021. Limit of 1 enrolled Card per Card Member. You are eligible to enroll starting from February 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021. Offer ends December 31, 2021. Eligible purchases can be made by the Basic Card Member only. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Starting from the time you enroll through December 31, 2021 (“Purchase Period”), you will earn one $20 statement credit each month after spending $20 or more in combined eligible purchases on your Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card at US restaurants (including takeout and third party delivery services) per month, during the Purchase Period, up to a total of $220 in statement credits. You may not earn a statement credit for purchases at a restaurant located within another establishment (e.g. a restaurant located inside a hotel, casino, or event venue). For example, purchases made at a restaurant located within a hotel may be recognized as a purchase at a hotel, not a restaurant. You also will not earn the statement credits for purchases at bars, nightclubs, cafeterias, and convenience stores. Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, cash advances, purchases of traveler's checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, purchases of gift cards, person–to–person payments, or purchases of other cash equivalents. Additional terms and restrictions apply. Merchants are assigned codes based on what they primarily sell. A purchase will not be eligible if the merchant's code is not eligible. Purchases made through a third-party payment account or on an online marketplace (with multiple retailers) will not be eligible. A purchase may not be eligible if the merchant submits the purchase using a mobile or wireless card reader or if you use a mobile or digital wallet. Please allow 8-12 weeks after an eligible purchase is charged to your Card Account for statement credit(s) to be posted to the Account. Please call the number on the back of the Card if statement credits have not posted after 12 weeks from the date of purchase. To be eligible for this offer, Card Account(s) must not be canceled and not past due at the time of statement credit fulfillment. American Express reserves the right to modify or revoke offer at any time. If American Express in our sole discretion determines that you have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with the promotional offer in any way or that you intend to do so, we reserve the right to withhold or revoke statement credits from your Card account. American Express may also cancel this Card account and other Card accounts you may have with us. This offer is not transferrable. POID: K1LY:0001

We got the $20 for $20 dining spend plus the 10K points for every $5K in purchases up to 100K points.

Question is it $5000 individual purchase or is in culmative? So if I spend $10K in one shot would it be 20K points?

Yes. Or you can spend $1K ten times. When your cumulative spend passes a $5K threshold, you get the bonus.

How did you reload your card? I did a reload on the website and it posted as "gift card" -- hence no credit. Did you use the app?

I did the same thing the poster you are responding to did. Reloaded on the smartphone app. Shows as restaurants and 5x points for US restaurants.

Thank you. Lesson learned. I'll use my phone to reload next time. 👍

You mean, "If I purchase $5 of items at McDs, will I earn a restaurant dining credit?"

Unless the McDs you go to doesn't use an alternative charge service, you will. I only mention an alternative charge agent because I placed an order thru a restaurant's website that uses such an alternative charge agent and AMEX shows the purchase as a standard retail charge and didn't give me the dining credit. Annoying.

Worked for me with Uber Eats! Got an email from Amex a few seconds after placing an order in the app.

It's been a week since charge posted. No email and nothing in the savings tab so unlikely Chick-Fil-A app works.

Nobody knows which app reload works because NOBODY has received a credit yet. Give it some time. It's not automatic.

Update: I reloaded the Starbucks card a minimal amount using the smartphone app this time. Still says "gift card" on the posted transaction and did not trigger the email that says you may have earned the credit. For now I'll stop reloading the card and wait to see if the credit posts later.

During last summer's restaurant credit promo on the Aspire card the credits posted soon after the takeout charges posted from a restaurant down the street. Not happening for me this time, at least when reloading the Starbucks card. I'll try using our other Amex that qualifies for the promo when I order takeout from that place soon. See what happens.

I haven’t read of anyone receiving the Starbucks dining credit during this promo, as yet. So, credits are still on the way.

When it happens, we will read about it on FT. 😀

Two days later I see this notice at the bottom of my no-annual-fee Hilton AmEx card online statement:

Rewards

You'll be able to see Rewards information for an eligible charge within 5 days of the charge posting to your account. Please check back later.

Could be when, could be if. The T & C language excludes gift card purchases from the offer. Both of my trial purchases posted as "Gift Card" in my Amex account. Hence Amex may rightfully not issue the credit. Not the end of the world. Just something to ponder while not traveling. YMMV of course.
