Hilton Honors Score More on Dining

Aspire has $20 credit per month, Surpass has $10 credit per month, and no-fee card has $5 credit per month.

Details and Offer Terms are copied from the American Express web site.

Details
Enroll in this offer to earn a $20 statement credit each month you spend $20 or more on eligible U.S. restaurant purchases with your Card. Whether it's dine-in, takeout or delivery, you can redeem this offer each month through December 2021. This is in addition to the Points you already earn with your Card. Terms Apply.

Offer Terms
You must first enroll in the offer by adding the offer to your Card. Only purchases made with your enrolled Card are eligible. Offer to enroll is available to existing Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card Members who are Basic Card Members prior to January 1, 2021. Limit of 1 enrolled Card per Card Member. You are eligible to enroll starting from February 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021. Offer ends December 31, 2021. Eligible purchases can be made by the Basic Card Member only. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Starting from the time you enroll through December 31, 2021 (“Purchase Period”), you will earn one $20 statement credit each month after spending $20 or more in combined eligible purchases on your Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card at US restaurants (including takeout and third party delivery services) per month, during the Purchase Period, up to a total of $220 in statement credits. You may not earn a statement credit for purchases at a restaurant located within another establishment (e.g. a restaurant located inside a hotel, casino, or event venue). For example, purchases made at a restaurant located within a hotel may be recognized as a purchase at a hotel, not a restaurant. You also will not earn the statement credits for purchases at bars, nightclubs, cafeterias, and convenience stores. Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, cash advances, purchases of traveler's checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, purchases of gift cards, person–to–person payments, or purchases of other cash equivalents. Additional terms and restrictions apply. Merchants are assigned codes based on what they primarily sell. A purchase will not be eligible if the merchant's code is not eligible. Purchases made through a third-party payment account or on an online marketplace (with multiple retailers) will not be eligible. A purchase may not be eligible if the merchant submits the purchase using a mobile or wireless card reader or if you use a mobile or digital wallet. Please allow 8-12 weeks after an eligible purchase is charged to your Card Account for statement credit(s) to be posted to the Account. Please call the number on the back of the Card if statement credits have not posted after 12 weeks from the date of purchase. To be eligible for this offer, Card Account(s) must not be canceled and not past due at the time of statement credit fulfillment. American Express reserves the right to modify or revoke offer at any time. If American Express in our sole discretion determines that you have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with the promotional offer in any way or that you intend to do so, we reserve the right to withhold or revoke statement credits from your Card account. American Express may also cancel this Card account and other Card accounts you may have with us. This offer is not transferrable. POID: K1LY:0001

so just wondered if this has since changed? I also dont know if I am searching the wrong places on here, but when doing forums, threads, even google searches, I can’t seem to find and other recent commentary on this so not sure whether best posted here or on the Amex dining credit thread. Also, might you know if there are currently any other ways to redeem anymore if unable to use “in person” (I am not physically in the US again until next month) Thanks for any info!

Shoredreamer, my $20/month credit is posting within a few days, and I get an email immediately after spending at least $20. Credit doesn't post until I've passed $20 spend.

It should count as May. Go into your Amex account on a computer and click on the actual CREDIT you received and it will indicate which transaction it was applied to.

It says the name of the restaurant it was applied to, it's just that the credit is dated in June and the restaurant visit was in May. And I didn't wait until the 31st either, this was a very long lag time from May 24 to June 16 to get the credit. Most times it's just a day or two.

It will show the "transaction" it applied to regardless of when the "credit" appeared. Did your "transaction" post in May? If so, it should be May's dining credit. This topic has been discussed in the "Amex Sync Offers" thread.

If the transaction is posted for instance on May 31st, and the "credit" was applied (by looking in your account) to that specific transaction, it would be May's credit even if the credit was posted in June.

Good, thanks. I usually try to use them early in the month (I have 3, a $20, a $10 and a $5), this was the first time I've had overlap and I wasn't sure.

Some restaurants are not coded by Amex as restaurants so you won't get the credit dining there.

Linsj-Thank you for your response. Yes, this has been my exact same experience as well but for some reason when purchasing the credit with CF (onto my CF payment card) earlier this month, it did not work in the way it had worked when I did exact same type of purchase back in Feb and why I was just trying to find out if anyone knew if this option no longer works, and if not, what, if any other options, are even available other than to just let the credit lapse which is what I was trying to avoid.

Sethb-Thank you for your response. I had used this same option and completed the same type of transaction back in Feb, subsequently successfully receiving the credit (after it was mentioned here as being a viable option) but for some reason this month, the same exact transaction, hasn’t worked for me and why I was just trying to find out if it was still in fact a viable option as I don’t want to make another purchase for essentially no reason. I was and am still hoping to be able to utilize the credit this month so was hoping for some insight from others perhaps similarly situated.

I got the credit in June on one Amex card, and just used another so I expect another credit in a couple of days.

Sethb, thank you again for your response… are you meaning you got it this month for a CF purchase via app? If that is exactly what you mean, perhaps I should try it again…just seems quite strange because I did the purchase early june never got the credit notification and recently got a reminder that there’s still time to use it so it obviously wasn’t counted/credited & I literally did the exact same thing, in February, when it did (immediately) get credited (??)

Also, would you happen to know if this is the only option left to put the credit to a card for later use and/or for someone unable to use the credit in person ie. due to physical location being presently outside of the US?

Again, thank you very much for all responses!

This month it took about a week before I saw it applied to my account while in previous months it took a day or two.

Not sure if this directed at me but if so, are you meaning with regard to a CF in app purchase? or are you meaning just in general with regard to any specific dining purchase? In my experience the credit has always been quite immediate, now no credit given at all when making a purchase within CF app, now close to 3 weeks ago, so was just wondering if it’s possible to get the credit specifically with the CF app as it previously had worked immediately back in Feb so wondered more specifically about any recent experiences with CF. Thanks
