.For a typical one-night stay the non-promo points looked like this:
- Base Points 1547
- DIAMOND ELITE 100% BONUS 1547
- DIAMOND MYWAY BONUS 1000
The promo bonus:
- 2018 HH1 POINTS UNLIMITED BONUS OFFER 2000
And that promo averages to ~3666 with the extra 10,000 every 5 stays.
My two-night stays are also under 3500 base points and my three night stays do tip towards 4000 base points, with the stay average being ~2200 overall. So Double Points will probably be better for me on my rare three-night stays, but less generous on the more common one- and two-night stays.
Looking at it another way, I usually have two 1-night or more often one 2-night stay per week. The about to expire promo was getting me about an occasional ~7300 or typical ~3600 bonus per week. The new one will be more reliably around 3000-3500, so not so bad a reduction per week as per stay.
EDIT: Across the current promo period I earned about 40k base points, so that's what Double Points would have accrued compared with the 66k I actually got. Bigger difference than I expected
