Hilton had a similar sale 2 or 3 years ago and the rates were fully cancelable, so not out of the question.

It better be fully cancelable, and even then I am not sure it will be good enough. That week there will be extreme discounts and coupons on OTAs everywhere that will tempt you to rebook all your next year's travel.

Some of the cyber Monday offers on OTAs last year were simply unreal, mind-blowing really. The cumulative savings were in the thousands of dollars. I was depressed for days for missing out some of those. You can check out the relevant threads on FT. I am hoping Hilton do their best to compete this year.
