What to do with points
Hi. First time poster in this section. I am new to collecting Hilton Hhonors points, I have just over 3,000...what can I do with these? Ideally I would want to transfer to airline miles but I see you need 10,000 to do this. Is it good value to buy points (can you even do that?). Advise please.

3k will get you a 5k hotel with another 20 (either by buying the points or as a copay). To be honest, they're nearly worthless (although I would expect closer to $30 of value depending on how strict you are with using them - you certainly could get as little as $10 or even less).
My guideline is that 10k points is $100 of value (I've just used 10k to get a Hampton Inn in Houston during Rodeo when it was $144 before any discounts like AAA or MVP). I just used 12k to get a $179 room for $50 in LA, and another 5k to get a $90 room in Wales.
Meanwhile the 10k points exchange to 1k miles, which I would value at about 1.5c/mile, or $15.
