Are you booking any AXON stays before June 15?

I'm wondering if it's worth doing it before it's too late. After all, there's nothing to lose if I change my mind.

Are you booking any AXON stays? If so, where do you think it's most worthwhile?

Thanks!

Yup, cashing out what is left in my account that I didn't get to before the other devaluation deadline.....pretty much everything is worthwhile if you are doing a 4 night stay.....

Yes, happy to only use 125000 points when I thought that the Axons had disappeared and I would need to use 200000 points. And yes, now I see that after June 15th, the Axons would still be there but at a higher rate for a category 6 hotel (160000 points)

Where are the new rates? Also IIRC the old rates can only be used on properties level 7 and under based on the new levels- right? Thx

American Express sent me a letter. You are right the old rates can only be used until June 15 on properties level 7 and under based on the new levels. After June 15, there will be Axons up to Category 10. So after June 15th,
Category Points
5 130000
6 160000
7 190000
8 220000
9 260000
10 300000

Thanks. So I am looing at a Catagory 8 under the new levels, which has a low season rate of 50k per night. AXON does nothing for me.

+1...the benefits of AXON are really, really thin at this point.

Best thing I can think of that the AXON does for you: allows you to stay exactly four nights (not five) at a high-tier hotel in its peak season.

Marginally helpful I suppose. Could bring some long-weekend type trips into play. Cat 10 High Season for 75k/night for four nights instead of 76k/night for five nights. Maybe use it at a W=A where you couldn't AXON before...Grand Wailea, perhaps... That was always 70k/night, right? Make the deval seem a tad less severe I suppose.

Called today to book 4 nights at Lake Las vegas Hilton--a level 6--for next May.

Was told hotel is sold out (one year ahead of time)--and of course no longer do a Diamond Force.

If you believe that.....

HH continues its rapid decline.

I don't stay at Cat 10's but are you saying high season is 75K for a Cat 10 ? I know a cat 7 is 60K peak

As far as the AXON goes it can be in multples of 4 night stays. I'm sure most Florida hotels are peak in March/April. If you stay in a cat 7 for 4 nights you save 50K points with AXON, 8 nights saves you 100K.

Not a bad benefit for a no annual fee card IMO

I just booked Sorrento Hilton (Italy) for next spring at 125K. It is a level 6 property. It actually moved down a level in the last great devaluation, so I got 20K points back on the AXON I had booked earlier. This hotel is a good base for exploring the exceptionally beautiful Amalfi Coast.

Hilton Los Cabos. Still a deal at 40k. And 125 axon. But when I tried to book axon hotel ha blocked out all 4 night reward stays! If u looked up 4 single nights it was available. So HH desk somehow opened it for me.
