Honors 2013 Status Roll call
How is everyone doing to qualifying for 2013 diamond status? I am a little behind this year since the Q1 promo was not so hot.

Let me ask a question. 8 stays 17 nights since Jan. 1 should mean that I need 8 more stays or 19 more nights, for a total of 16 stays or 36 nights, to retain Gold.
8+8=16, 17+19=36
However, when I go to http://waldorfastoria3.hilton.com/en/index.html it says: "To maintain your Gold status, you need:5 more nights or 3 more stays" but that doesn't seem to add up. Any explanation?

Running well behind last year's totals due to big cuts in my employer's travel budget. We did just spend 7 nights at the Conrad Bali on a reward stay. It was excellent; I'll post a review soon.

Have about another 5 stays booked through mid-April. Will hit Diamond based on stays by end of May. Then I'll focus on maintaining Diamond at Marriott or PC.

Question should be who is holding back on 2013 status because of:
1. Loss of DSA
2. Prem room scam

Diamond was not 28 stays, or this has changed now?
I know that you can also re-qualify through nights/base points but I always have do it through stays.
