I'd recommend the DT Bahia Mar in FLL.

It's got a proper pool, competitive rates, a quiet beach, and it doesn't involve driving to the other side of Florida.

Singer Island is nice. I don't use the beach. There is a fairly large pool and hot tub. It's near West Palm Beach so there are some museums. I'm still trying to find some good restaurants in the area. There are some good ones, but I haven't found great yet. I also don't know if it has family type rooms. But it's an idea.

The bulk of the Spring Break crowd congregates between Las Olas Blvd and the Marriott Beach Place (just north of Cortez St). Both the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach and Conrad Fort Lauderdale are several blocks further north. But, you'll still get some madness.

That said, it really only gets messy about two weeks each year. Unfortunately, without researching college schedules, it's tough to know exactly when those weeks will be.

The DoubleTree that Amelorn mentions is further south along Fort Lauderdale. That section of beach is generally quieter, mostly because there aren't bars/restaurants immediately next to the beach. But, that area tends to attract locals because there's a huge parking lot next to the sand. If you happen to come on a week when the local public schools are off, that beach will be crowded. It will have more local families and not drunk college students, however.

Don't get me wrong...I'd love for you to come spend money here, as would some of my friends that work in hospitality. (I'm guessing you'd tip better than a college student on Spring Break.) If you were traveling any other time of the year, I'd be encouraging you to visit.

Unfortunately, my hotel expertise is limited to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.

Looking at a long list of college spring break dates for 2018' it appears the biggest weeks are March 3-10 and March 10-17. We would be in FLL a week after that.

Ill look into the Bahia Mar.....

Best Hilton In Key West

I am heading to Key West for three days. Looking at:

Casa Marina Key West, A Waldorf Astoria Resort

The Reach Key West, A Waldorf Astoria Resort

Beach is important. They are both 80,000 points? Suggestions? Thanks!

Key West and the rest of the Keys aren't known for having great beaches. With that said, I would recommend The Reach. Pretty good beach and a bit closer to the action of Duval St, etc.

I agree with mgoflyer, if beaches are on the top of your list then Key West is not the destination for you. Out of these two, I liked Casa Marina but it is my personal preference.

Best read this thread: Can't decide - The Reach Waldorf Astoria in Key West or Aruba Resort & Casino? "Reach" and "motel 6" are mentioned in the same post.

We were going to try the Reach thie year but wound up rebtooking due to the hurricane and stayed at the Casa Marina for the fourth time. The grounds are spectacular and there is an excellent restaurant called Salute right next to it. We also spent five nights at the Doubletree which shouldn't be underestimated especially considering the points difference. DT has free parking, breakfast and shuttle to Duval and a great pool.

Ended up going with Boca Beach Club in Boca Raton for a little quieter scene than the Diplomat in Hollywood.

I’m looking for a solid property in Jacksonville. I will be conducting business at Mayo Clinic and am considering the Hampton Inn Mayo Clinic/Beach Area. Any recent experiences or other recommendations in a 10-mile radius?

Question Hilton West Palm Beach vs Hilton Singer Island?

My wife and I might be visiting relatives who live in West Palm Beach for a couple of weekend nights next February. It looks like our two best options are the Hilton Hotel West Palm Beach and Singer Island Resort. FWIW, the WPB property is walking distance from the relatives, though they'd certainly be willing to drive over to Singer Island and we'd certainly be willing to taxi/Lyft/Uber to see them. Also, one appeal of Singer Island is that I could use my Amex Aspire $250 resort fee credit there. Anyway, a few questions:

1. In terms of the hotels themselves, any recommendations of one or the other in terms of service, Diamond treatment/upgrades, etc?
2. We haven't spent much time at all in West Palm Beach. Is it a nice town to stroll around? Is the beach right near there nice? Any place to rent beach chairs/cabanas at that beach?
3. How is the beach at Singer Island?
4. Is it easy to get a taxi/Lyft/Uber at Singer Island?
5. Of course, any other advice or information would be welcome.

Thanks!
