There are reports executive lounge closed permanently here. However, the web site still says it is still there.

Any recent experiences?

As of late September it was open. Nothing exceptional about it but at least it was open 24/7.

I take it that it will be rebranded as a DT. As DTs dont have to have a lounge while Hiltons do

This is incorrect...there is no such requirement.

In today's Orange County Register:

Main kitchen at Hilton, 3050 Bristol St., Costa Mesa
  • Closed: March 3 (report)
  • Reason: Cockroach infestation (they also had temperature violations)
  • Reopened: March 3
Banquet kitchen at Hilton, 3050 Bristol St., Costa Mesa
  • Closed: March 3 (report)
  • Reason: Cockroach infestation
  • Reopened: March 3
Lobby bar and Starbucks at Hilton, 3050 Bristol St., Costa Mesa
  • Closed: March 3 (report)
  • Reason: Rodent infestation
  • Reopened: March 3
I read the reports; it's disturbing that management didn't fix these obvious violations before the health department showed up.

Well, it looks like the Health Department closures forced management's hand(s) since the different kitchens and service areas were closed and then re-opened the same day...

That being said, one heck of a contrast between those reports/closures and mcgahat's review above.
