Transfer to Hilton Honors

Hi,

I wanted to transfer points from my Starwood account into Hilton HHonors. Is there a way I could do this through an intermediary (i.e., an airline)?

Thanks in advance.
Cheers,

Cheers,
Yes. SPG to HA (20K SPG -> 25K HA) then AA to HH (25K HA -> 50K HH)
Not the best conversion but OK if you really need HH.

The AA->HH convesion rate changed recently. It is now 24,000AA->40,000HH.

I think he/she meant HA and not AA. HA still transfers at 1:2

Exclamation

HA will NOT transfer onward points that were transferred in from other programs!

Only HA or airline partner flown miles, credit card miles, HA mall miles, etc.

Hilton HHonors Transfer Requests:
Please allow 10-15 business days for processing.
The name on the Hilton HHonors account must match that of the HawaiianMiles account. Miles are sent in increments of 5,000 miles and will create 10,000 Hilton HHonors points. Per the terms and conditions, third-party loyalty program mileage transfers are not allowed.

Just completed a SPG to Virgin Atlantic to Hilton. Much faster than advertised

- SPG to Virgin Atlantic was 4 days (they said 2 weeks)
- Virgin Atlantic to Hilton was one week (they said 30 days)

20K SPG --> 25K Virgin Atlantic
25K VS --> 50K Hilton

Not too bad - 20K SPG -- > 50K HH in less than 2 weeks.

I personally value 20K SPG much higher than 50K HH.

Value depends on where you need to go not on some average number: FP or Maldives for example are a much better value with HH
There are other factors as well - ymmv.

The issue for me is that there are so many places we go where there is no Starwood property and there is almost always an HHonors hotel that we like. For example, we go to the Santa Barbara area - usually stay at the Doubletree. My kids live in central NH, no Starwood anywhere near there. No Starwood near Lake Tahoe, etc etc.

SPG points are so versatile in terms of SPG hotels award redemption, hotel and airline redemption, and airline miles redemption.

Not so much (on the airline redemption) for those whose primary goal is UA miles. The 2:1 ratio makes that one unattractive.

So it depends which miles you're interested in as to whether SPG is useful for miles.
