Using Cert:count as Stays?
I was given a few certificates for free nights due to an "issue" I had at a property. When using these free night certificates, will these stays be counted as "stays" for the 10 night promo? Of course I will be spending at the Hotel for parking, bar, food.

No awards will qualify for the 10 night promo. The 10 night promo specifically states PAID nights.

No, comp certs should not count. But if they messed up and just issued a standard Reward cert then it should count for stay credit but would not count for the Diamond Retention promo since it is a non-qualifying rate.
The way to find out is to READ the cert. If it's a Reward cert (see the word Reward repeated several times), I think it's paragraph 11 that says if it counts or not. Properties have been known to post the stay with the wrong code and not issue stay credit. Watch your account and if your stay does not bump the counters, eMail HH with a copy of the cert requesting credit.
