*ANOTHER* Opinion Request Thread
Hi all,
Okay, so it looks like Hilton is taking a beating here, so I have a question.
I just started a project that will give me the opportunity to reach plutonium status at Hilton, Marriott, and (likely, long story) Starwood.
I'm not a point whore as much as I'm a status whore (I like efficiency, what can I say?). But it really sounds like there's a lot of anger at Hilton these days (which is understandable). So, that said, in your opinions, should I concentrate my efforts on Marriott and (likely) SPG and skip Hilton, or should I stay diversified and go for top level at all 3?
Thanks for any insight. Yes, gleff, I know your feelings on the matter!

If you can do top tier at all three, I would go for that. I would however do the other two first
You never know when you may need a force or something and want the Hilton status.

I should mention that I'm Gold right now at Hilton (and SPG), and it expires in April, so I was thinking I'd get Hilton out of the way, first, because some of the Hiltons where I'm staying seem to think that Gold gets me executive lounge access even if I'm not upgraded to an exec. room, and I don't want that to change, so if I stick with Hilton at all, they'll come first (at least until I make Gold, and I can top up to Diamond at the end of the year). Otherwise I drop down to basic/silver status, which is not really worth anything.
Again, thanks.

It depends also what's your travel pattern, if it's US, Europe, Asia or international. Does your project allow you to pay for B&B rate or room-only(in first case breakfast is important)?

The fastest way to Diamond is to concentrate on "stays" rather then "nights". If you don't mind jumping to a different property every night, you can get Diamond fairly quickly.
Marriott, on the other hand, is just a straight 75 nights - which is a fair amount of work.
