Based on the anecdotal evidence I've seen here on Flyertalk, you shouldn't expect upgrade percentages anything like that (Prestige on 3 out of 11 rentals).

Agreed. I've gotten a Prestige upgrade once or twice out of 120+ rentals in the past three years all over the U.S. and Canada. I get upgrades frequently, yes, but seldom am I upgraded to a Prestige vehicle.

You can not upgrade to Presidents Club unless you are an invitee to the club. :P I just tried my #1 Gold number on the page quoted in this thread and it remarks that I am not an invitee. I suppose I will keep on renting with Hertz.. :P

Please, don't do it. It's not even worth $50, IMO. I've expressed my displeasure at Hertz in the past, but I noticed NO difference in car quality, upgrades, etc., between my 5* rentals and my PC rentals. PC is a pretty tough level to achieve, and I really don't feel like I received any love from Hertz in return. That's why I intentionally split my rentals this year b/t Hertz and National, to achieve 5* and Exec Selection.
