HLE problems - grrr...

Just got off the phone with Gold Awards trying to get credits for two recent HLE rentals. Both rentals were coded for ZE1.

On the first one, the CS agent said that the record was there but HLE rentals apparently don't automatically feed to the #1 system. Apparently they must be manually keyed. Grrrr.

On the second one (Rental and Return both on 8.28.06), the CS agent indicated that the record was still open, meaning that the local office hadn't marked the return. Therefore points could not yet be credited. She transferred me to the HLE office, who closed out the record today. I've been assured that the points will credit automatically (contrary to the CS agent statement). I've also been assured that I won't be charged for the time between 8.28 and today. We'll see. (Side note, this rental was at a small airport FBO as a location that is listed at Hertz.com as a HLE location. Since it was close to closing at the FBO, they asked to send the reciept by mail).

Incidentially, neither one of these showed up online in the "request reciept" section of Hertz.com (I now understand why, with respect to the second rental), nor did they show up in the View Reservations section. Apparently there is no way to tell whether HLE has closed out a record, short of a phone call. Nor, apparently, does HLE reconcile future rentals of a car against outstanding rental records.

Glad I called, although I assume that HLE would have gotten around to calling me about the open rental at some point.... I also suppose that I'll have to check to see if they credit the rental towards "status" for this year.

grrr....

I've never had any problems with HLEs not crediting me my #1 points with the ZE1 code nor with not closing my rental contracts.
