Italy car rental?

Since I don't have car insurance and I cannot find a credit cards that covers Italy, I would be grateful for any codes to reduce the car rental cost. I'm traveling next week.

Does anyone have any international (Italy) car rental discount codes? Anyone know how car rental insurance works in Italy or have credit cards that cover there?

I want to rent a car at RDU (raleigh Durham), Dec 1st to 4th (tues to fri) and I'm getting $45 minimum, for a total of $170.
4 days on a week-end instead of week is about $100 less!!!

Anyone know how to get that fare down? A good CDP or else?

Bump

Bump! Anyone?
Right now this is so expensive I'd rather hotwire it, even though I'm Hertz Gold!

I don't think it's worth going to jail just to potentially get a free rental! :D

My Company's Hertz CDP #.... 1824886

I was in charge of negotiating our CDP discount plan with Hertz. We don't have any special insurance attached to the CDP and it doesn't automatically bill to our company. Also, this number was set up for both our employees and clients (or anybody else we care to share it with) to use.

It should get you 10-25% off depending on when and where without any strings attached. So feel free to use it to save some money.

Summit Wealth Management? The couple quick rates I checked this was slightly better than the airline CDP rates, but slightly worse than the AAA rate (which admittedly is normally quite good). I'll probably stick to AAA, but thanks for posting anyways and welcome to FT. ^

And if enough FTers use your code, maybe you can negotiate even better rates next year and then I'll be in on it. :)

The AAA CDP for the Carolinas is 111.

I think the main AAA CDP is #1.

You can also use your respective CDP in conjunction with Hertz's promotions, for instance - these are just some of the better, more recent Hertz promotions:

Save up to $30 when you rent with Hertz for the holidays - offer valid on vehicle pick-ups up until February 6, 2010

No surcharge for young renters (aged 21-24)

If you are a member of AAA, you can save up to $40 on your rental

If you pay now with your MasterCard, you can get up to 20% off your rental and you will also be entered into a sweepstakes to win your rental for free

You can use any AAA club code. I use my real local code, 215, but you can use single digit numbers, etc.

Was able to book a 4 day rental with 1 free day for the end of the year using:

CDP: 221417 (aeroplan i think)
PC: 924932

Knocked almost $70 of my rental price! Was a better combination than the Travel partners CDP.
