If you are arriving during business hours, try the local Hertz HLE (Seatac HLE IIRC). I used them for a 2 day rental before a cruise and saved alot of $$. Worth a try and you could save a bunch of $$. I saved almost $100 bucks for my 2 day rental going to the HLE instead of SEA airport. It is only a mile or so from the airport. Worth it for a little extra time. They did refunded most of my cab fare from the airport to the HLE.

October 3rd Update
Okay, here is the monthly update I received for the currently available PC's available for CDP 1704073.

Called Hertz. They said there will be ID check for this CDP. I talked to 3 people up the chain to verify this and they said it's what it says in the computer. It's a special company code or something. Be careful.

What the heck Supply Service LLC?

I think they may have done that to scare you. I just rented a Full Size on Friday and they only verified my drivers license. If anyone has used this code, please post if you have had issues or not. If it is working, why do you go and call Hertz to bring attention to this?, and you went 3 people up the chain. I have a rental on Tuesday so I'll check with the rental agent when I get my car to see if it says anything in the computer.

Vickie, welcome to FlyerTalk. You'll get the hang of things. Start by searching and browsing threads like this one. We help each other by posting here, and frequently the answer to your question is already on the boards somewhere.

For example, this is posted just 2 and 3 items above your post, and it is probably good for you:
AAA $10 off per day, up to $40, thru Nov 15.

Note that you will need to use the AAA CDP ("1" all by itself will work as AAA CDP). And you may get asked to show a AAA card. AAA is pretty cheap and will pay you back on this one rental. Pick up some maps while your there, and you will be ahead.

Your dates are Thursday to Monday, which qualifies for weekend rates IF you pick up after Noon on Thursday. Then make sure you return the same time on Monday to avoid getting charged for a fifth day.

Also, check both airport and off-airport locations. Rates can vary greatly, sometimes better at the airport, sometimes better off the airport.

Good luck. And remember, it takes time. We who know the ropes learned them through many, many hours. Just look at how many posts we've made (left column, under our handle).

Please let us know what you find out with your rental tomorrow. I have a reservation using this CDP coming up soon.

So I went inside to pick up my rental and they didn't ask for any type of company id. I asked the asst. manager who helped me if it says in the computer to verify id and she said no. She said sometimes they ask if they work for the company and as long as the renter says that my uncle, cousin, mom, dad, brother, sister works for the company it's fine. She said they don't really ask for this CDP though because there is no included insurance for the rentals. The ones they do ask on is where the insurance is included with the cost because it takes on additional liability. Hope this explains it.

For the Noob posters... don't call Hertz up to ask them about this CDP. Ask on here. There are so many knowledgeable people. It's like you just want to start trouble by calling up the company. Just like the mileage run noobs who call in and the cheap fare gets taken away. "UpgradedFirst", if you have concerns, ask here first. We could have cleared things up for you.

Yeah, in the cheaper cities, that code + $10 off per day creates some real bargains -- particularly for 3 or 4 day weekend rentals.

Yes, yes. And apparently in some markets it is cheapest for the full 4 day weekend. Hertz weekends begin Thursday at Noon, end Monday at midnight. So you can look for these by renting Thursday afternoon and returning same time Monday.

Can't seem to get discount is it the Xmas factor ?

Hi,
I've been trying all sorts of codes and CDP's (1 club gold member) for a car rental from Off airport location in Orlando from 26th Dec to 8th Jan but keep getting error that not all criteria have been met for the codes - anyone know where I'm going wrong or have codes valid for this period.

Thought about splitting rental up as rates might be better after N year but doesn't seem to be helping. Any ideas ??

Tried ... Costco, AAA, Virgin

Can anyone help with a coupon code? I'm looking to rent from Madrid Airport (Spain), Dec 9-11. Lowest price I'm finding right now is around $275.
