Wink Help!

I am trying to make the switch from Budget to Hertz. I have done a lot of checking and it seems that Hertz is similar to Budget with their points system. (Last year I was able to get a free weeks rental for a convertible during July, a 2 hour massage certificate for my wife and even a nice pair of Bole sun glasses for my son)

I rent a premium car at least 10 days per month. My problem is that I HATE to pay any one $50.00 to become an elite tier member.
From talking to a Hertz CSR, it sounds like no matter how many rentals I have, if I do not pay to become Gold, I will be treated like the same person who rents an economy car twice a year. (I am not saying that I am better than this fictitious person, but am a better source of revenue.)

Is there any way to get around the $50.00 charge to become Gold? Thank you in advance for any help.

Oh yea, the only reason I am making the change is because their customer service has gone to hell since the recent buy out.

Do a search. There are numerous threads on how to get Gold without paying the fee.

Yea sapman, ok. Thanx for the tip ^ I would have NEVER thought of using a search for information on a forum.
With all the wonderful updates that they have done to this site, every time I did try to do a search I came up with a Fatal Error.

The easiest way to become Gold is to rent a Prestige Collection vehicle. A complimentary Gold membership is included with each rental.

Hertz is currently offering decent deals on Lincolns and Volvos at $65 USD/day / $54CDN/day.

To book this offer online:
1. Use PC# 950283.
2. Select the appropriate Rate (RQ) Code from the list below and add it to the I was told to Ask For Rate Code section of the quote. For weekend and weekly requirements, please see the offer Terms and Conditions.
Daily Rentals: PFHPCD
Weekend Rentals: PFHPCE
Weekly Rentals: PFHPCW

I was given Gold for free many years ago, and while I also rent Premium as a minimum, I do one Prestige Collection rental a year just to be sure to keep my Gold account current (I'm a 5-Star now and will probably be a PC based on my May rental patterns).

I recommend the Lincoln LS. A very nice change from the Crown Vic/Grand Marquis for often not too much more.

You may also want to check with NW. As a PLT with AA, Hertz Gold is comp.

It's comped with US FFs as well, so they probably hit all the majors.

No need to get snippy. It was a straightforward answer to a straightforward question.

Usually if people have tried to search on a commonly asked question and don't find an answer they mention it in the post. I find your above post both rude and ungrateful.

I also have found that the search function is not up to the old site as of yet. I to have done a search and nothing has come up. For a little while, let's give everyone the benefit. If there is a post, they may not have been able to get any further information.

Now in a few weeks when all is up and running like it was before, then I'm sure the search will be done before asking. Just because they don't mention it, doesn't mean they haven't done it.

Let's give everyone a little break for a while.
