Hi, has anyone have experience on how ldw/cdw works when doing hertz rental with points? I heard that AMEX Premium rental can cover the car but VISA primary rental does not work. Any ideas?

I'm trying to purchase points from Hertz. I have downloaded the form from their website. The form states to complete it, and
"fax it to the number listed above..." But there is no number listed, either on the form itself or on the website. Does anyone know the correct FAX number for Hertz, to buy points. Calling customer service does little good. They don't seem to know, and I'm told to call customer service (same number that I called). Never mind. I only needed 200 points, so I finally got someone who knew what they were doing and they just gave me the points. But I'm Pres. Circle. This may not work for everyone...

I have been able to make a booking for a one-way 1 day rental from St Louis to New Orleans for the 1900 points listed for a 1 day one-way rental but the points only remove the daily rate charge. The $300 drop off fee remains listed as being charged at the counter on pick-up. Does a one-way award not cover the one-way fee?

The American website with a generic retail code should not have a separate drop fee. International websites, or corporate codes, may have one. In that case, try removing any stored discounts automatically populated.

How does one book a Gold free day car use?
When I click on "Book With Points" online, it just takes me to the regular page to pay with cash for a day rental....
How do I book a free day online? The day I'm looking for is NOT high demand. |
Are you using the Hertz website or are you using the mobile app? If you have access to both, try both methods.

Verify that the day you're looking to book is not an 'anytime rewards' day which is about half the year for my airport location. The reason I say this - if you don't have enough points it's not going to give you the option to use points for the rental.

If you can, try the mobile app; the website can be very buggy. Or, if all else fails, you might have to call.

Well if it makes you feel any better, I tried to test the theory with a booking at Flint Michigan November 28th to November 29th which is not in any day rewards day, scroll all the way to the bottom like I normally would do apply points and it says I have a balance of 1398 points and zero available reward. Obviously incorrect, as the day should be like 950 points. So I'm in the same boat?

Does anyone know if you purchase points that does extend the expiration date of the points in your account.

Can't say my memory is all that great, but I can only recall one instance where I happened to notice that reward points were available at an off-airport location... is that my faulty memory or experience, or the reality of others?
