Ok, dumb (?) question:
I am trying to burn my remaining Hertz points. Do they really consider a Standard 5 pax SUV (Chevy Equinox or similar) to be a "Specialty Vehicle"? https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...5a79aa10df.png I guess I will be going with a sedan... I assume I can still pick something different from the PC or UC aisle? https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...8315877988.png |

Car must be returned to original renting location. Available on Luxury (Lincoln Towncar or similar), MidSize SUV (Ford Explorer or similar), Minivans (Ford Freestar or similar), or Convertible (Chrysler 200 Convertible or similar), Tesla Model 3 Short Range, Tesla Model 3 Long Range, or Polestar 2. Car must be returned to original renting location. |

As for your other question, I would imagine yes, as long as you book a midsize car or higher, the location participates in Ultimate Choice, and SUVs are available at the time of pick up.

What I really wanted was a a Tesla, but Hertz didn’t seem to have *any* EVs available to book at SEA. Very surprising. Oh well, I will accomplish my goal of using up almost all my points before some get expired away at the end of the year, and this might then be my last Hertz rental until or unless they become a better company again.

Oh Hertz how I hate thee (part one).
Trying to use points to go from one airport in London LHR to another LGW ... normal revenue booking - no one way fee (all five London airports are covered by this LGW,LHR,LCY, LTN and STN). Guess what there is a one way fee ... okay the following week due to BA's schedule I'm doing the same thing in Scotland where EDI and GLA again don't have one way fees. Guess what the points system is charging a one way fee ... FFS - do I book this and hope to get it adjusted out- oh and none of the contact numbers seem to work ... Worldwide Reservations

I'm trying to purchase points from Hertz. I have downloaded the form from their website. The form states to complete it, and
"fax it to the number listed above..." But there is no number listed, either on the form itself or on the website. Does anyone know the correct FAX number for Hertz, to buy points. Calling customer service does little good. They don't seem to know, and I'm told to call customer service (same number that I called). Never mind. I only needed 200 points, so I finally got someone who knew what they were doing and they just gave me the points. But I'm Pres. Circle. This may not work for everyone... I just booked a free day but I used the hertz CANADA website. Instead of . COM just put . CA I think it's possible through that website. "There are no rewards currently available for your date/time/location" |
If a location on Hertz.com doesn't seem to let me book using points, does calling customer service/reservations make a difference?
I have some points I use to keep my account active, but none of the HLE locations near me seem to allow me to use my points for ANY DATE in Nov & Dec.. even the dates that are claimed to not be black out dates. I've been checking NYC HLE locations as well, and the handful I've spotchecked are ALSO not allowing points bookings. Only the airport locations have worked for me... but I hate that there's like $30 worth of fees I have to pay when renting at airport. [edit] .. i scrolled up and read. Using hertz.ca worked for me! .. wth .. lol |
Illogical, as usual... frustrating.
Booking a reservation in Tigard, Oregon. If I go the Hertz website on the web, it ALLOWS me to use Hertz points for the booking in Tigard. But if I try and enter the same reservation information on Hertz's app, it does NOT allow me to use points for the booking in Tigard. The only other thing different, apart from the ability to use Hertz points, is the pricing. The pricing (w/o reward points) is CHEAPER on the APP, than the website. I note for the same location in Tigard, if I enter the same information (days of the week, pickup time, car selection, etc.) for a week later, the app DOES allow me to use reward points. |
Trying to book a rental from SEA using points on Hertz.com. Major airport, plenty of cars, low season and low prices for paid rentals. But the web site isn't allowing me to book using points at all. HUH? But hertz.ca worked. Weird.

Being trying all of 2024 to redeem points. Despite having over 20000 points I always get the message "you do not have enough points etc." Lots of different airport locations, durations and vehicle types. Website and app are the same. On-line chat totally useless, finally gave me a phone number which isn't available from the UK.

Is it true they still charge a ominous fee after redeeming points for a rental? Whats that for?

The booking confirmation shows EUR 162.75, "5 days at EUR 32.55 per day". It also shows EUR 10.25 of sales tax. "Due at time of rental: EUR 64.26" (which seems to include the 10.26 VAT according to my math) No idea what that was for - I didn't find the invoice in my emails and if I got a physical invoice/contract, I must have thrown it away. But I also believe the price without points was much higher than EUR 162.75, probably about double that amount, so I was glad I could finally use some of my points. |
I succeeded finally with redeeming points online on the .ca site. The fee is for (almost completely) LDW, which cannot be declined. Yeehay.
I'll try to decline that upon pickup. |
Is anyone currently able to redeem points for rentals on the Hertz.com website? For many months I have been unable to. I have a significant amount of points that are expiring. When I try to 'book with points' , it always falls back to a price in USD instead of giving me the option to redeem my points. How come?
I am using Chrome. Minos |
