A Tale of Two Agents

Agent 1: Leaving the airport the "computers were running slow" so it took about a minute to print things out. During that time the agent did her best to thank me for being PC, give me advice about which route to take because of traffic (bless her heart for the offer but she totally told me to go in the wrong direction...luckily I knew where I was going). But, you could see she was doing her best and trying.

Agent 2: Dropping off at a smaller location. Asked how the rental was..."Fine, no real complaints for a one-way, one-day drop off from the airport." Went on to tell me I should fill out the survey, spent a good minute asking me if I knew how/was going to fill out the survey. Then when confirmed the total amount made a comment about how HE would NEVER spend that much money just to drive from the airport. For that amount he would be on the phone finding someone to pick him up. What am I supposed to say? My family values their time more than the $ saved and 5 hours round trip + waiting to come pick me up from the airport?

Were either the end of the world? No.
Were either going to make me rent more or less from Hertz? No.
Just a musing/experience a bit more interesting to read than getting a Malibu with 45,000 miles on it.
