Unhappy Problem with reservation corvette

Hello to all,

I am French so excuse my English pittoyable; I have just reserved a corvette c6 convertible for a road-trip in September 2015 since LAX.
I have just seen on flyertalk that they did not renew the fleet ; in your opinion have I a chance to have all the same an old corvette or have to I filter in on a convertible mustang ?

I reserved via hertz with the mention "reserve this exact car" but to read the subjects I doubt strongly

Thank you.

Predicting what will be on fleet so far in the future is more or less impossible.

Hertz currently have the C6 Corvette Convertible on fleet, but these cars are already between 15 - 24 months old, so they will most likely be gone long before September 2015. What they will have by the time of your rental is anyone's guess. Although you might hope that they would have bought some C7 Convertibles, thee is no guarantee around this.

I suggest that you monitor the website as that will give a clue as to whether they have got new C7s or not and then nearer the time of your rental, contact them to find out what car they would likely allocate to you.

First of all thank you for your answer

That have to I make then ?

I modified the reservation (mustang convertible has $1100 for Corvette 1300$/18 days) and if I wait too much the prices are going to increase or vehicles will not be available any more.

I can't modify that 3 times the reservation and knowing that I have once already modified it I have no more than 2 possibilities...

Make one reservention for mustang and keep the c6 one as well. When september will be approaching you will get better picture of the fleet and you can cancel one reservation after you make a decision.

Have you prepaid the reservation already? That is the only scenario I am aware of where you cannot modify the reservation.

I would expect the Corvette C6s to be gone, but they do tend to stay on the fleet for a long time, so I wouldn't take it for granted.

I would make a flexible reservation for a standard convertible - you're almost guaranteed a Mustang or Camaro V6 and frankly, the Camaro is by far preferable to the pre-2015 Mustang anyway.

Edit: add PC 192021 to your reservation with whatever discount code you're already using and you should get a flexible rate for a similar or lower price than the prepaid option.

You still only lose about €40 if you do cancel, and you can still have a flexible reservation as a backup.

Yes I agree, but even with the code PC as you gave me the reservation of the convertible mustang is more expensive to me than the reservation of the corvette that I made

1. Did you enter it as a PC with another discount code - Hertz has a sale coming up - or as a CDP? If it was a CDP, that is someone else's corporate rate and you can't use it anyway, but it's no surprise that the rate is higher. You need to enter it as a PC.

2. There is an extremely high chance of being upgraded from a 'standard convertible' group, not the assigned Mustang group, so use that.

3. If you have managed to get a Vette for less than a discounted standard convertible, you've found a bargain and there is really no more to say!

I would never use a PC or CDP code suggested by some random person on the internet. Unless you know what it is, you should assume that you have no right to use that code.

Hi All,

i generally pre-pay my rentals as far as i am aware i can cancel prior before without any charge, alternatively you can ring up central res and they can usually reserve a prepay rate for you. Just make sure you give them your gold details and they will save it on your profile.

As everyone else has said no-one can forcast what they will have bar a few people in the planning department in Hertz and you have in theory no chance of getting them to tell you what they will have at the time.

All the best and have fun!
