Younger crowd's first time

Did a search for "young/er crowd" but nothing really helpful came up. Can anyone suggest a Waikiki beach hotel that might be mid-to-late 20s friendly? Planning a trip for May/June with about 10 friends (all single guys). Would like to stay at a hotel that might be more suited for a younger crowd. Do any of those exist right on the beach?

I went with a group of 10 girls in the same age range and we stayed at the Sheraton on the beach. Not going to recommend that one since it has a small pool and service was lacking.

There are usually some good deals to be had at the Aston resorts. The less expensive resorts usually have a lot of younger people.

Search tripadvisor.com for Aston resorts to see pics. Nothing special but they can be had for cheap.

Sorry-the Aston resorts seem to have been changed to "ResortQuest"
here's their website: ResortQuest

Agreed. The lesser the price, the younger the people you'll have. Though, IMHO, Waikiki is more of a family/couple place moreso than the younger scene place.

Thanks. I will check it out. Are you and your friends busy the first week in June?

Not necessarily married to Waikiki if you can suggest any alternatives.

Maui can be a lot of fun. It all depends on what the interests are in the group. If it's drinking and snoozing in the sun and the occasional swim I would suggest Maui but it will be more expensive and it's nice to have a car when you are there.

Waikiki is easy to get to from the airport and there are usually more people to gawk at. Prices tend to be lower.

As for my friend:
4 of them are now married
2 of us are in majorly long term relationships
1 is in Iraq
3 are probably unavailabe for consultation due to the fact that their daddy sent them to see their mother in France...punishment or something

You pretty much summed it up, but left out fishing, playing golf, and chasing women.

So you are saying that it is a possibility that 6 of you might be available?
Just teasing. Thanks for the help.

If you want fishing go to Mexico.

The Outrigger is the only Waikiki hotel with a bar on the beach -- Duke's Canoe Club. Quite a fun place. The hotel also has a great overall location, as well.

On a side note, at the time I stayed there, they only gave FF miles on Continental.

It is the "Outrigger Waikiki," the flagship of the chain:

The W can be fun & you're right next door to the Diamond Head Grill, which is a lot of fun on Friday nights when it morphs into a nightclub.

If you do stay there, here's a tip if you're interested in taking a catamaran ride: there is an orange catamaran that "parks" on the beach almost in front of the Outrigger. It does various trips throughout the day, including free booze (cheap booze), and a sunset cruise.

You can get a $5 (or $10, I don't quite remember) discount if you mention that you are a repeat customer.

Also, there are a bunch of nightclubs in the vicinity of the Outrigger, as well as a stripclub in the mall across the street, if you're into that kind of thing.

Have fun!

Here's a link with some good info:

The Deja Vu is the strip club close by.
