Maui in July?

I got a lot of useful information on this forum...Thx.

This might have been answered here before, so sorry if its a repeat.

Can anyone tell me if mid-July is a good or bad time to visit Maui? I plan to stay 4 nights at the Westin Maui Resort and 2 nights at either the Renaissance Wailea resort or Renaissance Kapalua Bay Hotel.

Also, if there is something thats a must-do, i would appreciate if you could let me know...

Thanks,
Hokie!

Aside from it being the hottest in the year (vs. winter months) and pretty crowded as it being peak season, there shouldn't be any problems.

I think it's a great time if you like water sports like snorkeling, because the water will be noticeably warmer and calmer. Maui is wonderful at any time.

The weather differences between summer and winter are very minor. Once, a Maui resident told me how wrong I am about that. He talked about summer heat, trade winds, rain and some other stuff. Perhaps to him there's a big difference.

For me, however, Kihei/Wailea in Jan. (av. high of 81F, 2.6 inches of rain) is not much different than in July (av. high of 88F, 0.5 inches of rain).

As mentioned above, the crowds are bigger in summer, but not in a way that has much impact on your enjoyment of your vacation.
