Need OGG transfer help

I'll be flying into Maui next week at 2:30pm from the mainland and then need to transfer to either Aloha or Hawaiian to go to Honolulu. Is there a way to check in on one of those airlines without having to exit security, check-in again at the main desk, and then go back through security. Any advice or suggestions?

Thanks!

Help with transfer at OGG

I think you can. If I remember correctly, you don't have to exit security to go to the interisland flights.

Make sure your luggage is checked all the way to HNL - will save a lot of hassle.

FWIW, why fly into OGG? Was the flight cheaper than the flight to HNL, even with the transfer?

Enjoy the trip!

You do not have to reenter security when transferring off an inbound mainland flight to an interisland flight at Kahului (OGG) Airport. Just check in at the counter near the gate and check you bags all the way thru to HNL. Read the post on connecting in HNL for more info on checking your bags through to HNL and what you'll need at your departure city.

Great, thanks! I'll just have one carryon bag so that will be easy.

As for why fly into Maui, I originally thought I'd stay there, but decided to go to Oahu instead.

P.S.: If you're flying CO or UA as I'm assuming, you can always try to standby (at the gate or thru online check-in) for a flight headed directly to HNL... as you know, on CO there's no charge for standby and this would allow you to avoid the connection in OGG.

Just a thought...
