when does the water cool?

I've been to various Hawaiian islands in early December, late February, and mid-June.

The water was great in June, and brisk in December and February.

I'd like to visit around Thanksgiving, but love to snorkel and am wondering what the water temperature will be like. Any natives want to weigh in? Thanks.

We typically go to the islands in the summer, but went for Thanksgiving last year. I found the water only slightly cooler in November as compared to July. However, last Thanksgiving the waves were high and snorkeling was difficult for several days unless in a particularly sheltered area.
