Maui Accomodations

Interested in hearing of experiences (good or bad) or accommodations (hotel/condo) near Kaanapali. Enjoyed our stay 6 or so years ago at Maui Marriott, which has turned into a time-share property. Unfortunately, the current rates are more than we would like to part with.

We are looking for an nice ocean-view room, doesn't necessarily have to have a kitchen; just a nice clean room, ocean-view, and a fridge would be nice. We will have a car.

Also interested in any current promotions; The Whaler on Kaanapali Beach.is offering 7th night free. Other than this, all the hotel seem to be holding off on any deals.

We had an excellent stay at the Westin Maui - great oceanview room, excellent beach, and very helpful and friendly staff.

You might also want to check out the hotel forums in Flyertalk Miles - especially Hyatt, Marriott, and Starwood. There have been quite a few discussions on Maui hotels there.

I stayed at the Hyatt but many people staying at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel were quite happy with it and their rates are pretty cheap.

We stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel
mentioned above and found it to be a very nice property. Its located between the Sheraton and the Whaler which are both nicer
higher end properties. Staff is very nice and many have worked there for many years.
There is a free show in the evening outside
the bar which inludes hula, singing and audience participation. A lot of fun in my
opinion. Very nice clean rooms and priced under the surrounding hotel/resorts. And you
share the same fine beach as the ritzier places. If I was looking for a hotel type
room and price was a consideration, I'd recommend KBH. I think we paid about $215 in
the high season.
Good luck,
