Flying International through HNL
Hi! I am looking to book a flight on HA that is LAX - HNL - SYD. There is only a one-hour layover in HNL and the page says it is only 30+ minutes late 7% of the time.
I don't move really fast, especially with carry-on bags, plus I don't know what the policies are when flying internationally, so I wanted to check here on people's thoughts. I'm guessing HA should not have a problem booking my bags all the way to SYD since I am not changing airlines. Is there any reason I need to go through security to get from domestic mainland HA to international HA? How far of a walk can this be?
Unless I pay more and book a flight one day from LAX to HNL and the next day HNL to SYD, there really isn't any other options on HA.
Also, totally different question. If I book this flight and want to use points to upgrade, is each segment treated as a separate upgrade?
Thanks.
