HA Schedule Changes
Why does HA make so many schedule changes? Every reservation I make interisland gets moved one or more times before I actually fly.

I can sympathize. I found one yesterday on our KOA-HNL-LIH routing where they have us leaving KOA earlier and arriving LIH later. They kept us on our original flight numbers and replaced the original flight times with different flight numbers. Since I didn't see the need to sit at HNL for hours I tried to get our original flight times back. I spent 30 minutes on the phone arguing why they should put us on our original flight times and not charge us a fee. Finally I succeeded. I understand the need for schedule changes but be reasonable on the rebooking.

Ugh
Since HA cancelled their SAN to OGG nonstops and bumped us to a HNL connection, there have been 5 schedule changes. That is no biggie except that every time the schedule is changed for one flight, all of our seats are changed on every flight and frequently members of our party end up on different flights. It is a major pain to try and get everyone back together on reasonable connections. Ugh.

Schedule changes are also probably occuring right now due to the additional 717's coming online. 1 arrived the other week with another next month, December and January. I believe these birds are going straight into service as soon as they arrive on HA property. I don't know when HA will stop using a 767 on the HNL-OGG run, but probably when the last 717 comes online so the schedule has to change for that too. It's a pain, but I am glad HA boosted capacity since AQ went tango uniform...it's better than nothing.
