I am going to post a link to this thread in the FT Airports - LAX topic to help your responses.
When I flew HA last July on a Sat. morning, the security line was about 20-30 minutes long. There was a seperate line for those with status. Don't know how much has changed...

Even if you miss the flight, I'm sure there are other HA flights to HNL from LAX, but to be on the safe side, I'd get there two hours before the flight unless you're on the first flight out, which is flight 2, I think.
