Aloha seeks $37M from employees

Aloha Airlines, in a briefing to the bankruptcy court Friday, said it hopes to find $60 million a year in cost reductions, of which it is seeking $37 million a year in labor cost cuts.

Privately-held Aloha told Pacific Business News it employs 2,206 full-time and 1,495 part-time employees, for a total of 3,701 employees. [.....]

What surprised me was the difference in employee numbers between Aloha (3,701) and Hawaiian Airlines (2,588). I would have expected them to be closer...

Aloha does a lot of contract work in HNL as well as cargo ops. Hawaiian might have more contract workers on the mainland, which might explain the difference.

I heard Aloha is going to reduce Flight Attendant staffing on ETOPS flight from 4 FAs to 3 FAs so can cut costs.
