Hi, Just wanted to let people know that the new service smf-ogg in first class using united miles shows alot of availability nex month. we just booked two first class tickets less than a month out and had no problems leaving on a friday and returning on a sunday. Anyone know what we can expect and any recommendations on what seats to request

Much nicer than UA FC imo. Get the bulkhead seats. Really.

I didnt know that I could use UA miles for AQ award tickets! How can I check availability? Uniteds 800 Number only? Or AQ's website? Thanks much!

I just went through this. I had to call United. I spoke with a customer service agent who was helpful but who seemed at a loss at multiple points during the process as to how to do it.

I was told that if award ticket availability appears on United's screens, they take the customer information and the then submit the request to Aloha, who then either confirms or denies it with 24 hours. Seemed to be quite a clunky way of doing it.

I couldn't get the seats I needed, but since I was trying to get 5k interisland award tickets (quite a bargain), it was worth a shot. Although it probably took 20 minutes or so on the phone to find this out.

My experience was very easy. It took about 3 minutes and then I had to call back the next day to confirm.
