Las -> lax -> koa
A friend is trying to fly LAS to LAX to KOA. For a number of reasons (primarily seating [2x2]) he wants Hawaiian from LAX to KOA. He also seems to want American from LAS to LAX.
Hawaiian suggested he book LAS to LAX on Americans site and then LAX to KOA on theirs. He is fine with that (and a 3 hour layover) but HA says that he will have to retrieve and recheck luggage because of the two carrier tickets but if they were on one reservation he could interline.
Is this a case where a Redcap (perhaps with a monetary inducement) can interline as long as he shows the tickets with less than 4 hour delay at LAX?

Problem solved.
I talked him into a redeye from LAS to HNL all on Hawaiian. He now has a Hawaiian credit card so he gets a bag free.
He is moving here but not shipping all his stuff yet. Thus in the bag, a few pans and skillets. I told him if they Xray and comment he should tell them, "Of course I amd bringing cooking items with me. Your website says no food is served on the redeye".
he will become yet another Kona Coffee Farmer In Training :-)
