Help with itinerary
OK -not sure if this needs its own thread. Mods I will not be offended if you move it.
Trying to get the top 100 US airports as defned by Wikipedia. So that means OGG, LIH, KOA -- with ITO a bonus. Would also like to ensure I maintain DL Platinum. That said I plan the following - bear in mind I had an excrutiating schedule before. When I take this I will be 55 so need some creature comforts and hence an overnight stop and Skyclubs at SLC, HNL, SEA, DTW as well as IND my starting point. My question is this planned itineray do-able and reasonably sensible?
HI Inter-Island v2 less stressful OGG/ITO/LIH/KOA
Friday Oct 26th 2012 Sun Oct 28th 2012
DL1235 Fri, 08.15 -10.10 IND - SLC Skyclub IND
DL1105 Fri, 11.40 14.25 SLC HNL Skyclub SLC
HA192 Fri, 15:36 16:27 HNL Hilo ITO Skyclub HNL
HA360 Fri, 16:55 17:46 HNL Hilo ITO alternative
HA111 Sat, 08.24 09:01 ITO - Maui, Kahului OGG
HA340 Sat, 11.31 12.14 OGG - Lihue LIH
HA204 Sat, 13.38 14.10 LIH - HNL
HA328 Sat, 15.12 15:55 HNL - Kona KOA
HA387 Sat, 18.13 18.56 KOA to HNL
DL2246 Sat, 21.17 06.00 HNL SEA Skyclub SEA
DL822 Sun, 07.30 14.45 SEA DTW
DL815 Sun, 17.25 18.36 DTW IND Skyclub DTW
Also, when booking the HA legs how do I get the miles credited to my Skymiles account?

How do I get the miles credited to my Skymiles account?
I just booked my first Hawaiin flight. I want to credit to my Skymiles account. Do I just call Hawaiin Airlines?

A call to Hawaiian CS should do the trick.

Do you want to know the even more crazy bit? After the inter-islands I am taking AS 871 TO Anchorage. From Anchorage I am then returning to IND via SEA and DTW. What will be even more stupid crazy and I am considering it - I arrive in ANC at 5.00am and am thinking of taking the first flight out via FAI and Deadhorse to Barrow. Spending a few in Barrow then getting the direct back to ANC. From tropics to north of the Arctic circle in less than 24 hours.
I am trying to break a few personal records.

Interisland connections look unremarkable provided you're not checking a bag (see the other thread on Hawaiian's interline policy if you are), but 71 minutes in HNL the first time through isn't going to give you much time in the Skyclub before you need to get yourself over to the interisland terminal. Better to go for the later HNL-ITO flight if the club time is important to you. Also keep an eye on the ITO-OGG and OGG-LIH flights. Initial indications seem to be that the OGG hub isn't working as well as hoped, so schedule changes wouldn't be shocking.

Thanks for that advice. No I am definitely not checking a bag. I have already booked the later flight HA 360. On current schedule (I am travelling July 12th-15th btw not as in the OP) have booked HA 360 4.55pm -5.46pm HNL-ITO and then I will check in a hotel to rest. Skyclubs are not necessary, just a convenient way to rest up.

All done - no significant delays on the Hawaii section. KOA is a cool airport. Everything (almost) in the open - ahrr the advantage of being in the tropics.
No jetways - but all the HI airports were great IMHO.

Love the KOA airport. Where did you stay on the Big Island?

Nowhere special - Hilo Seaside Hotel - about 3.5 miles from the airport. An OK restaurant and bar attached - had the pulled pork, gelatinous coconut oil (?) and rice + something else with salad bar. I was ridiculously jet lagged having done 11 time zones in less than 48 hours - MAN-ATL-IND IND-SLC-HNL-ITO so not super hungry - but I loved it. God if I had boat loads of money I would do mileage runs to HI every month.

OK question - thought I would post here rather than start a thread. Called HA and gave them my DL Skymiles number. So I should get my HA flights credited to my DL SM account. Do they just post the actual BIS miles or does the usual Delta 500 miles minimum apply - or am I best asking this in the DL forum?. I could of course be patient and wait until the end of the week and see what gets posted to my SM account.

HA flights post Friday/Saturday night, about 2 weeks after the flight. I have frequently had to fax in my boarding passes to obtain credit.
