Smile Green Lantern/ Toolshed or Omega in Washington - Any Reviews?

I'd love to get reviews on Green Lantern / Tool Shed and/or Omega bars in Washington. When to go? How fun? What's the crowd?

You can PM me, too.

All feedback is appreciated. ^

Omega is a varied crowd. Younger downstairs, older with porn playing on a TV upstairs.

Green Lantern is a little older. The Toolshed is more leather except for particular theme nights.

Not that I would know, but I am told by people with good authority that it is usually easier to meet someone of a randy nature late at night upstairs at the Omega. But it can be easy pickings or it can be awful.

They are not that far away from each other. Maybe a 15 minute walk. So if you don't like one, go to the other.

I'm no 'saint.' yes upstairs at Omega can be crowded late in the evening and it is correct that pickins can be plentiful, so quantity does not always mean quality. I've seen enough going on there...from groping to a group of guys who looked like they were from a frat house standing facing each other in a very tightly formed circle...that I laugh at the sign that expressly forbids sexual activity...in the porn viewing area.

Downstairs is more like a neighborhood bar, reasonable drink prices, pool tables.

Green Lantern isn't as fertile a grounds as Omega for that kind of stuff, but every thursday from 10-11 shirtless guys drink free upstairs. It gets quite packed, and people seem to be friendlier in such an environment when they're stripped to the waist. That said, they aren't all from the pages of Honcho and Men. But quite a few of them had not been beaten with an ugly stick either.

Green Lantern at one time had 3 karaoke nights a week, but don't know if that's the case anymore. I was there for work one time, and went in on two of those nights, and saw a couple of patrons butcher the same songs they sang a few days before. Pity the bartenders.

Eagle also has a shirtless free drink night, and the last time I was there I was treated to Jock Night. At 10:00 suddenly all of these guys start taking their pants off....

I found it to be quite a spacious place, particularly when its not packed, but overall, I didn't find it to be too dark or dirty like the Eagle around these parts.

Get a METRO. Its a weekly publication, and usually is whereever a Blade is provided. It has all of the special nights at all of the bars in town.

When one goes to a bar like the Eagle in any city, there is no such thing as too dark nor too dirty!
