Hope some of y'all can make it to the HNL DO May 9-11 2009! I might just make it to the lunch on the 10th...

Rates on Hotwire are pretty cheap, but I've noticed on past trips that the gap between their rates and Priceline is pretty narrow.

I have a note out to my friend there asking about Yardhouse. Folks on the HNL DO thread are pondering that for lunch, but (and not to sound ungrateful to the host of the SFO DO in January) after the food quality at Nirvana, I'm going to research the restaurant before signing up for the 10 May lunch in HNL.

^ who knows?
I see. I'm pretty much up and open for anything. Like I said I'm only doing a pseudo-MR-mini-getaway that weekend, and I'm a first timer to HNL as well. It doesn't sound like very many people are gonna be there that weekend anyway.

You had a post Hawaii? and I responded to that about your hotel questions, but didn't mention where I was staying.
I think you said you prefer Hiltons, but I'd like to suggest the Westin Moana. It is right on the beach, but that area will be crowded. The Moana has there own section for guests, though, and you can always have a chair and umbrella set up.
Seriously, check it out. I'm staying there, again, and got a really fantastic room at an even better rate!

I'm in HNL on the 11th (happens to be my birthday). I'll check it out the DO. I presume there is a something on this board regarding the specifics?

My first visit to Chiang Mai, at long last.
I haven't locked down my plans yet, but I will be in BKK at least from 28 May - 31 May!
Here are my finalized travel plans (it's a bit of a MR):
22 MAY AA 831 JFK DFW Y/F*
23 MAY AA2320 DFW ORD Y/F*
23 MAY AA 289 ORD PVG Y/C*
24 MAY KA 893 PVG HKG Y
01 JUN KA 892 HKG PVG Y
01 JUN AA 288 PVG ORD C
01 JUN AA 2349 ORD DFW F
02 JUN AA 762 DFW LGA F
I'm still trying to figure out what to do in between, I'm just using HKG for cheap entry into SE Asia, and umguy will be joining me in BKK for the second part of the trip.
But it will be filled with beach time either in HKT or Koh Samui until around the 28th.
I am still working out hotel accommodations but I don't think we'll be at the Pen this year, *sniff*. But me thinks dinner at Thiptara might be in order. Maybe we can finally say hello in person...granted a good 9000 miles away from our respective homes.

HA! I *just* posted that we've yet to meet on another thread, and now I discover that you & I will be in BKK at the same time!

Take a look at the Pen. Rates are very reasonable. I think I saw you post that rates are low at the Met too right now. I've also heard the Millennium Hilton has some good rates. The latest crisis may put another chill on tourism and prompt the hotels to do more promotions.
