Huzzah!

Tempe, AZ had a gay major for a decade I believe (and he was a Republican) but this is much more exciting!

From all accounts I have read, her opponents attacked her on the basis of her (homo)sexuality, not her credentials - since she was, reportedly, an excellent administrator and a very strong candidate.

I was watching this election... and honestly was very worried that the opponent attacks might just work.... I am so happy to see that those low ball tactics were not rewarded by the electorate.

Based on her experience, she seems to be a great politican and should be good for all Houstonians!
