ADAC / AAA reciprocity
Does AAA membership (American Automobile Assn) grant ADAC benefits, so long as the membership is active, or would one need to join ADAC in order to get their benefits? I know you can join on the roadside should your vehicle break down, but say you have a AAA membership still active?

There's reciprocity, but I don't know its limits.

Just have your AAA membership card with you and you get free roadside assistance from ADAC. If the ar can't be repaired on the spot they tow you for free to the next service garage.
As an AAA member your can also use the offers from ARC Europe

I have been in countries (central and so america) where AAA was not recognized and had some problems. I paid the bill there, got a receipt and submitted it it was (in spanish) to the local AAA in HI and they honored it and sent me a check.

Thanks. I'm getting ready to move to Germany for a few years, and I wanted to let my AAA membership run out before starting up an ADAC membership. I think my AAA is good until next March.
