Red face Layover in Frankfurt

My wife and I have a 7h 35 min layover in Frankfurt going from Houston to Gothenburg this Wednesday. I'm not familiar with the airport (usually go through Paris or Amsterdam) and I wonder over our options.

Do we have enough time for a trip to Downtown Frankfurt, thinking about going through security both in and out, and traveling with the train. And what are the fares for the train?

And what would you recommend doing in Frankfurt?

I'd be thankful for ALL help

Welcome to Flyertalk. Your post will probably be moved to the Germany forum, where the FRA experts hang out. In the meantime there are a couple of threads (linked below) that might be helpful. The consensus seems to be you will have time for a quick trip to downtown Frankfurt, but a better option might be to go the other direction to Mainz:
6 Hours at FRA
Suggestions for an 8 hour layover in FRA?

Thank you for the thread suggestions. I'm new here and wasn't really sure how to find the most appropriate forum to post in.

One small addition. We got snow today and the forecast is showing very low temperatures for the next days. So it isn't the best weather for walking outside right now. While 7 hours are plenty to see Frankfurt keep the weather in mind.

I´d go to Frankfurt. There are sevaral intresting sight to see. European style walking street, Zeil, Fressgass etc, Römer, some museums, local restaurants serving Ebbelwoi or very sour apple wine etc. Train ride takes about 15-20 minutes into main railway station or Hauptwache and cost about 3€/way/person. Definitely better than staying at the airport, even if you happen to have lounge access. Having access to Lufthansa´s first class terminal might be a different thing.
